Well, now I know for next time.

[Corrigan tilts his head slightly, pretending to think.] Hmmm...redheads.

[Kyle snorts. He's obviously infatuated, but he's not quite that far gone.]

I don't believe you. I think you're buttering me up so I give you that 'next time.'

[courtinsession]

I don't think I need to butter you up. [Corrigan leans in, hand squeezing at Kyle's thigh.] I think you've already made up your mind about next time.

[Fuuuuuck. He blushes harder.]

Maybe. But I still wanna know you. I don't normally, like... do a lo of casual sex.

[courtinsession]

Ahhhh. [Another squeeze, then Corrigan sips at a whiskey that's appeared seemingly out of nowhere.] Well -- what do you want to know?

[kyley_b]

Everything. [No hesitation at all.]

I mean. Okay. Where are you from? Do you have family? Friends?

[courtinsession]

Oh. [Corry looks mildly taken aback, because most people don't...care about all that. He turns his glass in his hands for a moment, thinking.]

Missouri. Not anymore. A few, but I work a lot.

[Kyle has always been curious, and that curiosity certainly extends to people. Especially when he's let some utter stranger handle his first heat; in spite all of his resistance, Corry is now enshrined as special in his heart.

That does nothing to halt his bluntness, though.]

Are you lonely?

[courtinsession]

[It's sudden enough, unexpected enough that Corrigan answers honestly:] Sometimes.

Not right now, but sometimes.

[kyley_b]

That's okay. I am, too.

[He shrugs, fingers knotting together.]

Which sounds awful, but I'm really bad at making friends. And like... being an Omega makes it weird. There's a lot of people who don't wanna be around you. Like we're all supposed to just hang out with each other fucking... redecorating our apartments or something.

[courtinsession]

It doesn't sound awful. [Corrigan’s voice is softer, more gentle.] You're a person, not a stereotype.

And god knows Omega stereotypes are worse than most kinds. Must be hard to convince people to see outside them, hm?

[kyley_b]

[Kyle's stomach flutters. The expression of simple gratitude on his face says much about how often people believe said stereotypes.]

Yeah. I just... let people think I'm a Beta, if I can. Because it's the dumbest shit, like, okay. I like sports. You know how many guys don't wanna play with an Omega? So many! Like I'm gonna suck at it, or cry if I lose, or like... turn it into a gangbang, I dunno.

[courtinsession]

I think I've seen that porno before. [But he says it dryly, rolling his eyes, taking another sip of whiskey.] I can't blame you for not wanting people to know.

Do you regret letting it slip? That night at the club?

[kyley_b]

Exactly! But life's not porn! I just wanna play basketball!

[He sighs.] I'm embarrassed about it, and part of me thinks I can never go back because nobody will let me do anything but be a sub, now.

But on the other hand, there's you. You were great. And you're here right now, which is even better.

[courtinsession]

[That gets another of those bemused snorts.] Basketball, really? You any good?

[Then, finishing off his whiskey, Corry turns to face Kyle fully.] You usually like being more dominant, then? With anyone, or...? [He...might be offering? He might. Maybe. It's been a long, long time since he switched roles, but. He's not opposed.]

Yes, really. And I'm okay. Like I'll never go pro, but I played in high school.

[Kyle meets his gaze fearlessly. Even if he goes a little pink.]

Usually, yeah. Like as a general thing. I don't often actually throw sex in the mix. That's for special people.

[courtinsession]

Mmm, so did I. I wasn't very good, but I enjoyed it.

[That gets a bemused, toothy grin.] Am I special?

[kyley_b]

Really? [Kyle looks so ridiculously happy.] We should play sometime.

[His blush deepens and he has to look away.]

[courtinsession]

Oh, so you can kick my ass? [Another of those bright, cheeky grins.] I see how it is.

[Corry watches Kyle for a long moment, before reaching over and gently taking his hand.] I like that you're different. I like that you don't apologize for it.

[kyley_b]

Well. Yeah.

[Oh dear. Kyle goes scarlet. But he looks even happier, somehow. He believes every single word to come out of Corry's mouth.]

I. Uhm. Thanks.

[courtinsession]

[Corrigan smiles, lifting Kyle's gand to his lips, old-fashioned gentleman style.]

I like that you're a brat. I like that you don't let anyone tell you what to do. I like that you're loud and opinionated and feisty. And I really...really like your ass. Win-win-win all the way around.

[kyley_b]

[Kyle tells himself that he absolutely will not swoon, and fails a nanosecond later. Emotionally, anyway - physically he manages to stay upright.]

You can have use of it again. If you want to.

[courtinsession]

Yeah? [Corry’s expression stays soft, sweet, except whenever another alpha comes too close. Then he blatantly glares at them until they leave.]

Wouldn't mind getting you in an actual bed. That could be fun.

Yeah.

Hate to disappoint you, but I won't be in heat this time. I'm back on suppressants.

But I do own a bed.
