The blushing, even after all this time, has Corrigan nuzzling the back of Kurt's neck in amusement. Their question, on the other hand, has him hesitating -- not because transforming could hurt Benji, necessarily, but because a wolf hides pain so much easier than a human does. But Benji's already leaping (metaphorically) to comply, shivering out of his canine form into his two-legged, less furry one.
The difference is -- notable. There's a grey, ashy undertone to the pup's skin, his eyes bleary, his floppy hair stringy with sweat almost immediately. Benji isn't great at hiding his emotions either, and every tiny movement has him wincing, breath hitching in pain. The bandage on his hip and thigh seems more dramatic too, stark pale against his shivery skin.
But he props himself up on one elbow, with an effort, turning to nuzzle at Kurt's palm, reaching out to grab at their good hand, his eyes teary and anxious. "Y-You're -- okay? Really okay? The baby's okay?" Benji's expression goes stricken, drugged out and a bit more emotional than normal. He stamners out, "He -- hurt you, I let him hurt you, I'm so s-sorry, Kurt..."
